Jakob Dylan
this is an excellent second solo release by JD, but I think Ethan Johns ie; a subtler touch would be a better match production-wise for him over T-Bone Burnett here. When you can tell the producer without looking it up it has too much influence on the completed product IMHO. If you didn't liking Raising Sand (R Plant/A Krauss), you may not like this.

I feel neglected neither JD nor Natalie Merchant have arrived yet.

Sorry, that is frustrating. Hopefully the sky's will clear soon, if that is the delaying factor.
The JD is very good by most all standards, but I think he has a better one waiting for a slightly different approach. Many will probably think it is perfect, I kinda think it is TBB's Raising Sand jr.. Neko Case, excellent in her own music, plays the AK role here I believe.
Let me/us know what you think when your copy arrives.

Miles, Jeff
I was impressed by this JD Tiny Desk Concert, with lovely backing from Neko Case & Kelly Hogan.

Thanks Denis. I expect I will enjoy it as I like JD and his songs. I know of Kelly Hogan only by reputation so I will enjoy hearing this.

4. Girl I Love You – featuring Horace Andy
5. Psyche – featuring Martina Topley-Bird
6. Flat Of The Blade – featuring Guy Garvey
7. Paradise Circus – featuring Hope Sandoval

Playing the Bonus CD in the 2010 UK Deluxe Edition 3-LP set
One of my 180gm vinyl records has a slight warp which doesn't impress me at all. The music imho is mostly fair to middling Massive Attack quantity over quality, although i do like Paradise Circus with Hope Sandoval quite a lot and also the Gui Boratto Remix, and perhaps oddly, Saturday Comes Slow sounds like a bit typical in style to Radio Head from the OK Computer album.
Need to give this some more time on another day when the mood is right : )

There is so much greatness on this album:
"No More"
"You're My Thrill"
"What is This Thing Called Love?"
and on and on...

3. Them There Eyes
4. Keeps on Rainin'
5. God Bless the Child
6. Do Your Duty
7. You're My Thrill
8. Gimmie a Pigfoot (And a Bottle of Beer)
9. Crazy He Calls Me
10. Now or Never
11. Please Tell Me How
12. Lover Man (Where Can He Be)
