Nice to see these guys getting a bit of play by other forum members. I was slightly underwhelmed when I first heard the latest album, but it's turned out to be a real grower. As with the first two albums, there's far more going on lyrically and musically than first meets the eye.

And you think HE looks cold?!!What's it like up your end of Norfolk, George?
Keep tucked up with the brown medicine is my recommendation.
It's parky enough James, but I wouldn't want to be stood on top of that hill without a nice hot curry inside me.

I only got to the first one and it sounds great, the other three will follow later today.

On vinyl, I did go on to the second side on, I don't know why:-
I fail to see the reverence and praise V der GG ie Peter Hammill get. His strange vocal style, this from a Geddy Lee fan too. An instrumental band would have been a better idea.
Didn't finish the b side.
Now FSCD, on vinyl:-

The Peter Malick Group -New York City featuring Norah Jones.
Picked this up yesterday in my local second hand record shop £3.99. I must say I've been quite impressed. I knew nothing of Peter Malick or his group and bought it on the strength of it being in the Jazz and Blues section and clearly early(ish)recorded Norah Jones.
Jones sings all songs and if I were to comment on her voice I would have to say that she can indeed sing the blues and this album is closer to the sound of her newest release (the fall?), based on the couple of tracks from it that I've caught on the radio. All in all at 4 quid, a happy purchase.
Could find nothing much on All music guide about this album / band. Anyone know anything?
Charlie.

Ewen,
now that I have played all 4 of them I have to change my assessment to absolutely sensational. I have at least 4-5 versions of these titles including the early JPN pressings but nothing comes close to the sound stage and detail you get from these XRCDs. As a bonus the artwork is just fantastic.

Cheers ... Oliver
