Does anybody make music any more that fits into one genre?

Kari is a stunning Norweigan singer who started her career in doom metal then moved into drum & base before releasing this (and one other) album of practically perfect songs.

quote:
Other People's Stories is Kari Rueslåtten's latest solo album, released in 2005. Here, Kari has been inspired to tell the stories of other people. Every song has a separate story but they are all tied together since they are all part of life. The music moves from warm acoustic to cold industrial elements with the melodies and Kari's voice always in focus.

If you like talented female singers you will like this. Even the industrial metal overtones of a couple of the tracks only serve as a bleak backdrop to Kari's hauntingly angelic voice.

I know that before buying people like to know who she sounds like and if forced to answer this unfair question I would probably say...Sarah McLachlan.

There are some good tracks on it. I always like Andersen's bass.

Continuing the modern Funk vibe with the man Quantic. I recommend anything on this wonderful Brighton label, Tru-Thoughts.

Hi Dean,

Totally agree with your Quantic recommendation. I've seen a few posts by Keano King as well extolling the musicians virtues. I've been a big fan for awhile & have a few albums, the best being IMO ....

Also worth listening to his work as Quantic Soul Orchestra. Some great albums, the best IMO being ......

Regarding your earlier post about David Holmes. I haven't thought about him for ages. I have the album you posted & also..

Just put it on. I forgot how out there this album was !!!

Cheers
