Cool. Hawkins has a nice tone on the tenor sax. Should be made compulsory listening for anyone learning to play the sax.

Artistically I don't find it as exciting as her last album, but there are some strong tracks on there. Sound quality is great, but that's no surprise at all as the man himself mastered it - Doug Sax.

Doug,

I just realized that I have their Vol 4 disc on the Sony label. I had it for over ten years and I don't think that I listened to it more than twice. I will have to dig it out today.

Haim

Haim, you really should try to at least get Vol. 1 & 2 which has the Fantasie in f minor and the Divertissement à l'hongroise in g minor. I just love these works in particular. If you like vol. 4 it might just be as cost effective to get the 7 cd set. Their are certain moments of shear musical bliss that Schubert exposes us too and one wishes they would never end.

Recently I have started learning the Secondo and Primo parts on my own (and in hopes of finding someone to play with me) and so I started hunting out recordings.

Do you have this one? I ordered it but it is back ordered so it might be a month before I get it.

Lesley Duncan - Moon Bathing (1975)

I like the confidence and variety in Lesley's songwriting here compared to Sing Children Sing & Earth Mother.
