Ah yes, I have had a few of those. Trying to show my Dad what I like and it backfiring. Anyway, he did sleep though the second half of Andy Sheppard at Ronnie Scotts Birmingham in the early 90's (well it did kick off at 1 in the morning) and taking him to Herbie Hancock Headhunters in Sydney a few years ago was a big mistake for all of us - we escaped to a local restaurant at the interval. However, there have been some successes!

I would say it is another very nice MCC elpee and worth adding to any record collection, I'll need to listen a few times before I can rank it. You are much more forgiving than me and probably have more energy to further explore works after a disappointing experience. I feel guilty giving up on good musician (like Jarrett to whom I hardly listen anymore) so guys like Zorn don't get a second chance from me.
