Cover illustration: Giuseppe Tartini after an oil-painting by an anonymous contemporary painter.)

I would think Tartini, when quite a young lad, had the choice of going out and having people poke fun of his big conk, or staying inside to practise the violin.
The fact is; he was very good at playing the violin.
Not surprising the artist wanted to remain anonymous after painting that! : )

However, the music is very good indeed, even if this is all about the violin sound. The cello and harsic take a very back seat role here. Shame it isn't more of a Trio.

Footstomping, funky northern soul....

Very funky & quirky tracks. The standouts being The revolution will be televised, Big balls & As if

Both albums worth a listen.

Cheers

Love that album. I tend to listen to his live recordings more than his studio albums. RT has released so many fine Live recordings over the years, it's hard to choose a favourite. However, if I had to pick two I'd go for these so I'm going to be playing them this morning...
