Arrived today Smile Smile Smile

Only 6 tracks in and wild opera is challenging, moody & on the way to magnificent.

If you have the no-man mixtaped (double dvd), then this CD complements the documentary and therefore essential.

Early 70's classic album, still sounds as fresh today as it did back then. Great cover too.

my favourite Van album Smile

I'd only really heard stuff off of the Moondance album which I like alot, Brown Eye'd Girl is well overplayed though, so thought I'd try something else and glad I did as Veedon knocked my socks off, pfffff! just like that Smile

In a word Dean..'ummm'.

I hate to be wishywashy in my reply but recently I have come to realise that wether or not people (not you but since the forum has a wider readership) like an album has a lot more to do with expectations and anticipations than actual content. In other words 'What are you expecting?'.

I like the album, I can easily see it finding it's way into my 'What are you listening to..' thread.

Is it a remarkable addition to the musical genre..? Probably not and critics will not have to look hard to find fault but, as I say, I enjoyed it and will again.

Sorry if that doesn't help matey but it's not quite black and white.

Also playing TT on the BS on my TT.

BTW, I downloaded the album from the freetracey site today and track 5 - 'Why Does The Wind?' is missing. Awaiting a reply from the supplier.
