Just got wind of this one after reading JazzTimes. It is a tribute to the music of E.S.T. Wonderful interpretations.

Radiolarians: The Evolutionary Set [BOX SET]
Hopefully this will tide me over until the new Portico Quartet album Isla is released in the US on vinyl. Good stuff.

Anthony, you might also be interested in this. Ulf did a similar album but this time it was the music of Keith Jarrett

Another album of his that I really like and sounds wonderful on the rig is Forever You.

2nd dodgy pressing of this. Unlistenable. Think I might just stick to the CD.

How do you like this one? Not one I have got into properly. Should I?

What class music. Beautiful and to think he just makes it up as he goes along. Kyoto, November 5th 1976.

I think so. I tend to file it under "intriguing", which is not to damn it with faint praise, as I enjoy it when I play it. It definitely deserves an occasional spin.

It's funny, the Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD, which I normally respect, gives this a somewhat ambivalent review, and this put me off buying the set for ages. Yet, having finally bought it about a year ago, I now regard it as possibly Jarrett's finest solo piano work. I'm sure there's a moral in this story somewhere - but my head is too fugged by post-festive torpor to find it!

I agree with that. It's my "go to" solo work. Much better than Koln for me. And the encores disc is sublime. I do like Penguin guide but they got this one wrong.

Just arrived through the door is a Japanese Made for the US market pressing of one of my fave albums. This is remastered by Barry Diament and meant to be one of the best sounding TOTT albums. Will do a test versus my 4 other CD pressings of this later.

I would third that as well.
