Only too happy to oblige.
As you are getting on well with his solo concerts then you could look at
Paris Concert
Vienna Concert
Solo Concerts - Bremen/Lausanne
and then if you are felling flush, well Sun Bear Concerts. This is a 6 disc boxset and is pretty special.
Recent solo concerts have been about short improvised pieces as opposed to the very long tracks he created on the albums above. Two recent ones to check out would be Carnegie Hall and Paris/London:Testament (I was at this London show)
Then you could try his European Quartet with Jan Garbarek, Palle Danielsson and Jon Christensen. Three highly recommended albums are
Belonging
My Song
Personal Mountains
Next up is his Standards Trio. My personal faves here are
Tribute
Still Life
Whisper Not (I was at this one)
Blue Note (6 Disc Box)
My Foolish Heart
Standards in Norway
Tokyo 96
and many other good ones
When you have got through this lot you can explore his America Quartet, his classical recordings and lots of other configurations he has done.
His new album Jasmine with Charlie Haden is beautiful and simple. It has been called the first classic jazz album of the 21st Century in one review I read this week.
His music can be demanding but highly rewarding.

Thank you very much Lontano. You certainly have a great knowledge and ppreciation of his music. I will bankrupt myself slowly

Thanks again

Was skeptic, first. That changed. Not totally constant, but all in all some gems to find on this. Don't let you fool by the "martial" cover. Mellow tones, inside. Sung by a beautiful Swedish singer.
A bit like my experience with the iPad, today. Couldn't resist

How is this disc? I have read one superb review of it and one not so good.
It's amazing. Petibon takes expressiveness to unheard-of levels, with an unbelievably flexible voice and great sense of timing and musicality. Mind, in terms of approach, this is more like early Biondi than Curtis.

Couldn't resist… to touch it for some time, in the shop today. But since you asked: Just as a great remote control for iTunes playing into the nDAC (which is my default playing mode), it is a wannahave. Considering what else you can do with that remote control (that for example the Naim thingie that comes with a 552 can not - at a higher price) makes it a bargain in our world. I am sure that I will have one.
cheers

What do you think Flettster? I really like it, a bit more dressed up than their earlier stuff but the groove is still there.

A wonderful album KK. My favourite song being Sinister Kid. This is a really new vein of music for me that I'm keen to explore. I have told my Wife that it's your fault

I have told my Wife that it's your faultI've been looking at the earlier releases on Amazon & can't decide between Thick Freakness, Magic Potion or The Big Come Up. Which should I buy first?. Any advice appreciated.

glad you like it. Now the black keys when they started oout are very stripped back - my favourite sound. If you like he current album then you should work backwards and go for attack and release and go from there. My fav's are Chulahoma which is a dedication to j kimbrough (one of fav blues artists). Then i love listening to the big come up and then thickfreakness. In short all of them. If you start at their start you can really hear the progression. Dan's solo album is my fav above all. Can't wait for the gig in July!

enjoy

This has to be one of the best sounding/recorded albums I have ever heard. And I am really enjoying the music as well.
