iTunes ("Most played" play list) tells me that this is the album that I play most. In particular "Els Segadors" and "Silence.

I was waiting for your response on this one, and wholeheartedly agree with your comments. Musically not under the top 20, but the atmosphere is very well recorded, on this one.

cheers

I am giving this my first proper listen now and with the lights low, this album is superb. I love the sound quality - they have really captured what the Village Vanguard sounds like - a few more chink chinks of Brooklyn lager and I could be sitting there right now.

Erkan Ogur is a remarkable artist, playing with Djivan Gasparyan, here. Who knows what could have happened, if Eicher had put his eyes on him/them ? Ogur CD's are a bit hard to find, and some of them come from Turkey, directly.

Enjoyable morning music.

cheers
Stefan

Stefan, he is available on spotify, so I am trying this album out right now!

No more spotify in Germany. And, what do you think ? Mood dependant, I know - but apart from that ?

I like it. I can see what you mean about Eicher - he could be Brahem 2.

Lovely version of Prince's "Diamonds And Pearls".

Just deeply brilliant. May be difficult to find in the northern hemisphere but well worth the effort.. I've seen her live twice and am hanging out for the next album.

Hmmm - only for completists.
This doesn't prepare you for the great records that followed, but always interesting to hear where things started.
