Arrived today. It's classic, ambient chill-out.

Bloody marvellous.

Amadeus Quartett

Norbert Brainin violin 1
Siegmund Nissel violin 2
Peter Schidlof viola
Martin Lovett cello

Recordings from early 1960's
Deutsche Grammophon 10 LP box-set @ 1974 i think

Playing this 10 LP box-set... presently this morning just lp sides 7 - 10 that contain the Opus 59 (No.s 1-3) that i'm enjoying immensely, they certainly sound more passionate and interesting to the ear than the Opus 18 on the first 3 records, imho : )

John McLaughlin day at Chez Voltaire today. Over 20 albums to choose from. I will start with one of the defining moments of UK jazz.

First tentative footsteps into the murky world of blues. Not sure if this is a little more country than I thought it would be.

This is a super KJP album - solo guitar live - I used to use it to test my system as the detail you could hear was superb. In fact I'll go and dig it out for later listening today.

Isn't it just. I bet it is one he would like to change now. My guess is it was a serious 80's shot - taken in 1987! Still a very worthwhile album with PE, John Abercrombie, Marc Johnson, Joe Lovano, Bob Mintzer, Kenny Werner, Don Grolnick and Peter Gordon.

And super sound quality on the Denon label.
