I also like his other album with Metheny. Which one is your favourite?

I really don't think I could choose...

I would choose this one of the two. I am not a fan of the other, one of the few albums that my system struggles to handle - track 8 kills it. I think the guys benefit from the quartet setting.

Even better?Man you will have to go some to better that mans playing Winker

Adrian is not a fan Stu.

What is all this pre-occupation with noodling?

I mentioned it once and everyone else seems obsessed with it.

Thank you D.L.T.
Still sounds as fresh today.

Great for a road trip especially when you're driving a highly modified car! Winker

If I had to choose between the two, it would depend on the time of the day. I have used the quartet for drives into the city, but the other is great for late night listening.

Now what should I do whilst waiting a week for the boxes to arrive? Frown

How does this compare to Haden's work with Quartet West?

A French copy of this double LP set, i don't know what year this was recorded (no mention in the gatefold details) but it's just about perfect, the vinyl is in mint condition, the musik sublime : )

Corinne West and Kelly Joe Phelps E.P. sample trax. Pleasant listening. I believe there is an album due out later in the year.

Lucy Kaplansky, John Gorka and Eliza Gilkyson new album due out in July. It is a mix of new material, covers and them also covering each others trax. Quite like the version of Gilkysons Sanctuary by Kaplansky but it ain't as good.

For me Gilkyson steals the show with her more expressive voice.

I like this one very much. Being just double bass and piano it is slightly of a different character than Tarantella.

You could compare it with tracks 6 Ballet, 10 Tarantella and 13 Postludium of the 'Tarantella' CD. That is doing some injustice to the CD, but they could have been on this one.

It is a late night listening CD, with smooth jazz, but also with very exciting tracks with great solos.
A combination of tracks of a mellow melting of bass and piano and of tracks with an obvious lead bass or lead piano.

You could listen to the teasers on Amazon.com to get a feeling of the CD.

On the Silence there is more copper at work and is more introvert in character.
His work with Quartet West has got more of a swing.

If I may put it this way Red Face 'Silence' is more like a type of jazz from a smoky Jazz club and his Quartet West work is more a type of jazz from a busy restaurant. (Ooops with did I say now).

I prefer the style of 'Silence', but will listen to both Winker (if I have to Big Grin )
