Oliver and Stefan, come on England.

I have always had only a "fair weather" interest in football. Music is almost always rewarding, football normally is not. I will continue playing my albums and going to live concerts

Debs! Don't rub it in! There are millions of very unhappy people in England just now. I am not worried one way or the other, but ...
I was thinking of going out for a walk just now, but will instead leave the door safely bolted!
ATB from George
Just for you information George, i'm not really listening to it...
There is a lot of horrendous moosick on that 3 cd set, (had a look at it in Tesco's and quickly put it back on the shelf)
Rather go out and fight some unhappy footy fans than bend my ears to that rubish but i'm quite happy listening to Macca and Wings instead

Why, who won?
The other side ...
I am staying in as well - after the ear-bending I got last Wednesday, when I admitted that I did not know the score at the end of England's previous game.
Moosick! Never thought of that one! I will keep it mind for future use!

I can fully understand doubts. This music is more on the emotional than on the intellectual side (which is absolutely not a bad thing). Very mood dependent, and with a tendency to be better when played loud…
cheers

I wasn't going to buy this but Stefan's enthusiasm convinced me. First listen and I'm not sure I'm feeling it yet, but will give it another try anon.
Stefan - that Sendecki piano CD looks interesting; will certainly add it to my wish list.
Second time round, and growing on me fast.

I have always regarded 'Bookends' as Simon & Garfunkel's master work. I much prefer it to 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.
I really enjoy listening to the MFSL version. Is it a different mix to the recently remastered Columbia CD? Maybe MFSL simply went back to the original mix, as they did for Derek and the Dominos' 'Layla'. I recently compared the MFSL 'Layla' with the latest Japanese SHM version. No contest! The MFSL wins hands down although to my ears, most of the SHM discs that I have heard suffer from 'loudness wars' remastering.

My favorite S&G album. I fully agree with you on the SHMs. A good alternative to the Mofi (which is now rather expensive) is the Japanes 32DP. I would even give it a slight edge over the Mofi.
