On the black stuff...

Not sure who recommended this wonderful album on this forum but thank you very much Big Grin
Do you know if any of his solo albums are any good? (eg. Ask Forgiveness, Beware, Lie Down In The Light etc.)

Hi Jeff. Which is your favourite? I presume your Water In The Ground is the 2xCD release with her debut album Dark Dream Midnight. I think I like the album above best. It's a little starker. Be interested in your thoughts. She is absolutely fabulous though whichever album you listen to.

Cheers

Hi
As I download, I only got WITG as a single release. Of that and CCB, I, like you, lean toward CCB as my favorite but agree they are both top shelf. I will get DDM someday. And fabulous describes them well. So glad GML and J.N. posted about this artist.

best regards

I wish my customers at work would adopt your healthy attitude to my buy it now instructions.. Smile

What did you think? Not cheery music or easy music but I think it is great music.

Hi Gordon,

Only one listen so far. Raw and intense, but I think I will enjoy having it. I always gravitate to stripped down recordings and this "sound" fits the bill nicely. Appreciate the recommend.

Earlier this morning in the car:

Something I picked up in Barnes and Noble Washington DC a few months ago.

Bromberg's just as good on the double bass as he is on the electric bass.

His bio records the fact that "Klucevsek is one of the relatively few accordion players active in jazz and free improvisation", a statement that should encourage any listener to proceed with some caution.

I have heard his 'Manhattan Cascade' CD and was reminded that the definition of a gentleman was someone who owned an accordion but chose not to play it.

Seriously ... It's very different music. Not to my taste but if it appeals to you then enjoy it.

Chris Quire 'Fish Out of Water', Mark Kozelek 'Nights LP' live and rare versions.
