A new release.

Haim, I've debated about getting the Chopin with Brantelid, Shirinyan and Frang as I have the Grand Duo and the Trio on this set. Slyly, the marketing department put other player's playing the Cello Sonata. It wouldn't be such an issue if I didn't like this group playing the Trio. I really liked what I heard. How about for you?
What do you think of the David Jalbert?

Doug,
Thanks for introducing me to Faure's Nocturnes. I like the disc a lot (it is playing now). Jalbert in his firm/delicate piano touch sounds to me a lot like Bavouzet. The music which I was not familiar with reminds me in its flow of Satie.
The Brantelid disc featuring less known works of Chopin is also featuring excellent musicians and I definitely recommend it.

Lots of hits, lots of misses too on this album. The band was in a pure improvisational mode and the only rule was anything goes! Some brilliant tracks, especially the first few.
What sparked the Pat Metheny craze? Thought you were hooked Mike Oldfield for the last few days.

The Joan Osborne is a great album. Whats the Piers Faccini one like though?
Thought his first solo showed a lot of promise but didn't like some of the trax on it so never got a copy.

This is a really tasty album. Just the rhythm section alone is worth the price of the EP. Having Pat Metheny on it too is just icing on the cake. Almost as good as 'Question and Answer'. Vinyl or CD?

Warming up the eardrums for what I hope will be the concert of the year tomorrow night at the Barbican. Great summery music. I have not seen the Pat Metheny Group for too long now, some seven years, so excitement is rising.

Found the answer to my earlier question!

Enjoy the concert. Pictures please ... of the band!
