Also fantastic. Getting repeated plays on the Supernait and car. An eclectic mix of jazz, blues and folk styles. One of the contenders for favourites of 2010.

The recording quality has been criticized by several reviewers, but they were probably Naimless because it sounds spectacular in my living room.

EJ, I ordered this a couple of weeks ago and should be here any day now. After reading your overview, I just can't wait for this to arrive now.....

irwan,
I have never heard of her, but what you have posted makes me want to give it a listen.
Cheers
Stu

She is part of the New York Voices quartet that also includes Darmon Meader, Peter Eldridge and Kim Nazarian. Lauren joined the group with this album:

By the way, she also has an earlier solo album:

How did you find Trilok's collection?

Fourth disc in a box of six. Every single one has been great so far. This guy is amazing. My contender for favourite box set of 2010. I like it even more than Keith Jarrett's Impulse Years box set which I purchased earlier this year. Once again, thanks Adrian.

Doug,

I fully agree. The three spectacular Russian piano discs which I never tire of are Sudbin's Scriabin, Hamelin's Medtner and Jenny Lin's Shostakovich Preludes.

Thomas Dolby: Flat Earth
'84 Release. Capitol Records. The original US pressing.
Way more fun to listen to with the Briks than itty bitty WATT.

Hi Kuma,

I recommend the new download EP (just $3)from Thomas - Amerikana

It's a real departure from his previous work and to my ears very infectious.

Here’s a series of cool video clips that went up on YouTube on 12 July of TMDR on the Nutmeg dissecting the first of the EP tracks ‘Road To Reno.’

The other tracks Toad Lickers & 17 Hills will be posted on YT in the coming weeks.
