On CD, not normally in purchasing view, but for 99p, I thought why not?
It's not bad either:-

Second listen this week. Not sure how I will come to liking this one overall?

I'll admit that my first reservation is simply my own problem. I simply do not get the Fazioli piano sound. At times it can be quite compelling and maybe that is recording related? In softer sections it can be tolerable but in louder sections it doesn't seem to carry the strength and solid power of a Steinway.

Demidenko has many good ideas about Chopin that I like very much. At times he is spot on and presents a just interpretation based on the score (that most others simply miss or ignore) yet this doesn't carry him through to win me in the overall interpretation. Much of it seems too cautious. It feels to me like he is still probing or searching rather than staking his claim on certain points. This is most evident in the more demanding pieces like the F sharp minor or B flat minor Preludes, marked Molto agitato and Presto con fuoco, respectively, I'd certainly like more of it all around. Minor quibbles though....

Underworld '100 Days Off' I didn't like it when it first came out, but it is now my most played album by them, a slow grower. Yes 'Close to the Edge' an album that has been a favourite for over quarter of a century, I never tire of it.

And Sun Kil Moon (Mark Kozelek) 'Admiral Fell Promises' which is just living in the CD player at the moment.
