A good album too, if a bit melancholic for a summer's afternoon.

Just returned from the village fete and listening to this with the kids.

Following Haim's lead.....

Haim, what do you think of the Telemann and also Kapsbergiana? Two albums I've been meaning to pick up.

Doug,

Kapsbergiana is still on its way from Germany along five other discs, two of them classical music of Scriabin and Faure:

The excellent Telemann disc is of three concertos, a sonata and a suite for viola da gamba. Hille Perl is playing here with a larger ensemble than usual but still maintaining her delicate and thoughtful touch. That's what I like about the viola da gamba. It is like a speed bump, not allowing you to play the music too fast and run away with it, but instead it gives you time to relish and appreciate the journey on its seven strings.

I seem to recall you were not a fan of this one. Hopefully you have now changed your mind. His best trio album IMHO Winker

I did have a listen to Herbie Hancock's new album on spotify. I don't know but an artist of his stature should be producing much better music than what I heard, IMHO. He got away with the approach with The Joni Letters and produced a lovely album. Maybe this new one will grow if I give it another listen but I am not so sure.
