Love that Buddy Holly album. Not come that far since the 50/60s sound wise?

We've moved into orbit BigH, thats a very simple setup on the Buddy Holly LP not much could go wrong, I could record that no problem with very modest modern equipment and equal it, in the 50's the equipment cost an arm and a leg, and for Mono only. Now a modern recording of Beethoven's 9th Symphony with full choir or Mahler's 8th Symphony with an even bigger choir or a complex Prog/Post Rock album, these push our systems to the limit and on the whole sounds considerably better than older recordings (cue George

Simple music shows a system off really well thats why they play it at HiFi shows.

Can't help feel there state of the art was better than todays, judging by some of the shit released content and technical.
2 maybe 4 track studio vs 24/48 , no computerised "adjustments to out of tune/crap voices instrument correcting software, no 6 members of the band e-mailling their pieces in from all over the world.
Out of choice I'll have simple, I'll listen to complicated, but like the recorded "live" ethos.
Maybe it's quite a low orbit really?
Now from iMAC:-

Not too much technical wizzardry needed for this one either, I would guess.
