Oliver,
My Mother has just donated her Blue Note original version of this to me, as they no longer have a turntable.
Lovely big slab of thick vinyl. The cover has seen better days but the vinyl is fine and the inner sleeve has pictures of 72 other Blue Note titles and a banner celebrating "27 Years of Blue Note the first name in jazz 1939-1966". I've got a fair number of them, but I suspect you have the lot!
Regards
Nic

What a great gift.
My Blue Note vinyl is in storage in the US, don't have too many on the black.
On CD I must have over 500 titles, so some of them I got multiple times:
Original CD (German or US)
Japanese First Pressings
Japan Blue Note Works series
Japan Mini LPs
A few on Gold CDs
... and now these outstanding AudioWave XRCDs.

Some of these Mono recordings are the best.

First listen. Some of it a bit samey. Mr Lightbody seems to use the same vocal formula for nearly every track. But that aside there is the odd decent song.
Cheers

I totally agree.
you should start listening to some of these things on spotify - it will save you a lot of money and space. for me it is disposable.
Spot on Adrian. I listened on Spotify and whilst I enjoyed it, I'm glad I didn't buy it.

What do they sound like?
Stu
Now that I have has a considered listen to all three (Deuce, Blueprint and Fresh Evidence), although the balance is slightly bass-heavy (though nowhere near as bad as the almost unbearable UK remasterings), these Japanese CDs sound better than the SHM Rory CDs I have (which sound slightly artificial), and the UK 'original' CDs and the more recent remasters.
Although of course I like listening to the vinyl (of course), they have a wider sound spectrum than at least some of the LPs, which can sound a bit thin. These Japanese CDs, although - as I said - slightly bassy, are the most vinyl-like Rory CDs I've heard.
(Must be ... SWMBO has just told me to turn it down, and I don't normally turn up CDs very high!)
So a real bargain at £5 and £6 each! Sorry those who've got to buy at £20+

Great shame I can't get Spotify here in NZ. I did however listen to excerpts on Amazon. I'm not sure why, but even after I do that I quite often get it wrong. Maybe they just play the best bit's of the songs
