Just been told I'm an idiot for buying this CeeDee as Spotify is all you need.

I should receive the CD soon and I'll let you know my thoughts later this week. Liked what I heard on myspace.

Hope you like it Denis - it is out there on spotify as well. Some of his lyrics are superb. I often do not listen to lyrics too carefully but this album has me reading along to the songs to get full impact of what he is saying.

Well his his voice sounds pretty good on my PC (Cambridge THX) speakers, so augers well from the Briks.

Earlier, Gavin Clark's glorious band - Sunhouse. A travesty that this was their only recording in 1998.

One can never go wrong with Charlie Haden. Having Keith Jarrett on the album is a nice bonus. In the list of top 2010 releases.

Haven't played this in a while since the hype really but I think it did deserve that hype, cracking album.

"While best known as a master of the organ and of the polyphonic Cantata, the great Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707) also left us a number of Spiritual Concerts for soloists and instrumental ensemble. For this recital, Hans-Jrg Mammel has selected works from this repertoire, including amazing vocal chaconnes which bear the undisputed signature of the great composer the young Bach so much admired."

Dean,

It is a bit mixed in places, but has some good stuff on it.

Might be worth a listen on Spotify first. The bass is way down in the mix on the production, and sounded way better live. The same goes for the Japanese drumming, which was sensational live, very balletic performance.

Overall if you like his stuff you will probably enjoy it. As I do not have a lot of his back catalogue, I would welcome any suggestions of what else to get. I will probably pick up a copy of his autobiography at the same time. His life sounds pretty interesting, and on stage he came across as someone I would like to find out more about.

Early work as part of PiL is good and I have just transfered the 12" single "How Much Are They" into iTunes.

Most of the early stuff is probably only in the black stuff.
