On vinyl. Talking Heads are one of those bands that I never tire of hearing.

Now this on vinyl, then an early night for me.

First listen. I'll look forward to comparing this disc with Isabelle Fausts'. Gringolts has a very different approach to this music than Faust, a fuller, more burnished tone but not quite the attack. Interestingly, both artists were in their late twenties when they recorded these works.

Listened to this on the way back from Belfast,
First impression is it's not as immediate as The EP,Funeral or Neon Bible, nothing really stands out!some tracks just become background noise, seems to improve on later tracks.Having said that I will be buying it on the Black stuff as well.

Indeed, starting with 77 onwards. I in the process of copying mine into iTunes so that I can enjoy on the move and at work. No cleanups, no tracks just whole sides.

Hi Chris,

I've nearly bought that Dr Rubberfunk album a couple of times. What's it like?. The people at Jalapeno Records have released some great stuff. Recently bought the album below which I would highly recommend.

Hi Flettster,

First heard a kind of unplugged track on R4 one saturday evening, which inspired my cheap vinyl purchase on Amazon. It's a grower, but possibly a bit formulaic and bland. I find the vocal performances a bit thin given the weight of the the bass and drums. Then again I don't have much soul. Well not in my records anyway.

Don't get me wrong, it's still the kind of thing that gets me going first thing after a late shift!

Cheers for the recommendation btw.

Best,
Chris

Forum favourites, a bit of a pain to get to play on the PC without all the interactive stuff messing up the playback, but I managed it in the end. Wanted to listen to 'Trains' while soldering track to my train set.

Adrian,

I am so glad that I got this music. I play it almost every evening.

Glad to hear you like it Haim. It is a lovely album and perfect relaxing night time music. I just love the slow mellow pace of it and Paolo's "Italian" trumpet tone.

In my Amazon shopping basket gentlemen. Which other Paolo Fresu album would you recommend?
