Enough to put me off, as I went to see Lou and Zorn in New York a couple of years ago doing feedback (exclusively). My poor eardrums, I had to leave. I will try the disc though.

Ha-ha! The track's not quite that bad Adrian. One Amazon reviewer described it as like being stood on a very windy street for 20 minutes. I like the way the album hangs together, against seemingly overwhelming odds.

Stefan, your description of Lloyd does not make him sound boring at all. I will investigate further. "Lift Every Voice" was recorded in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 and (for my ears) is just a little too solemn and worthy. Maybe the new ECM CD will tempt me to hop on board the Charles Lloyd train.

What a wonderful voice. Very Poppy but a nice album all the same. Apparently some of the songs penned about her experiences in NZ.
