Just been reading about them in that very magazine.

Try Green Delay and Alive. A good band, playing for the E.S.T mantle of best jazz band in Europe.

Dean,

This was my first EST disc, I think I have pretty much got them all now. Resistance is futile.

If you've ever thought of dipping into modern Techno this band are one the best for a gentle entry, don't let the fact that they are one of my favorite all time producers put you off. Winker

Through 1966-1968 Lloyd led a quartet with pianist Keith Jarrett, bassist Cecil McBee (afterwards, Ron McClure), and drummer Jack DeJohnette, that producer George Avakian signed to a contract with Atlantic Records. The quartet's music was an interesting fusion of straight-ahead post-bop, free jazz, and soul jazz. The group's music quickly caught on with both jazz fans and critics. Somewhat surprisingly, they also achieved a fair amount of crossover success with young rock fans and became the first jazz group to play in The Fillmore. The album Forest Flower became a big commercial hit, largely on the strength of the title track.

Big Grin It was just easy to quickly play it from the itunes library as I am in front of the computer. I do actually listen to far more music on the computer, ipod or car than I do the system. And what a great album Forest Flower is.

Still one of my all time favorite ECM albums.

Successfully attaining simplicity by employing (but not relying on) repetition.

Lovely.

Do. If you understand why they didn't call the album 'Every bright morning we enter our joyful home' then I suspect you will love it too.
