Music of Emmanuel Chabrier whose name means 'goat-herd'..

"If you do not know Chabrier's piano music, then this is an ideal selection of his best works played with exactly the right amount of tenderness, Gallic wit, verve, and-the most important ingredient of all-charm" (Classic FM Magazine)

A respectful substitute to a Chabrier disc played by Tharaud which unfortunately is not available any more.

I am intrigued if for no other reason that this Manet is one of my favorite paintings - have it as a canvas transferred print in my bedroom.

DrMark,

Your second choice of French piano music with an Eduard Manet painting on the cover would be Faure's Barcarolles:

Both discs are highly recommended.
