imho, some of these songs and arrangements are stunningly good, others less so, and the wide gap between those points has made the overall effect not draw me in, but I am going to give the whole a chance to continue growing on me.

Jeff it took me a while to "get" the whole. Now there is no going back. This album, for me, is going to be one of my favourite ever. It's in some good company. I hope it grows for you.....

I had the pleasure of seeing them at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago in June. It was wonderful night of new interpretation of standards. See them if you can, Jose is something special. As usual, he is more accepted in Europe than here in the USA.
