Wasn't this Bernstein's debut for the yellow label?
Hi EJS,

i was hoping someone would pickup on this cos i haven't a clue, however i did find this on the DG site...

In 1972, three conductors begin long-term associations [with Deutsche Grammophon]: Daniel Barenboim (also as a pianist), Seiji Ozawa and, most prominently, Leonard Bernstein, who in 1981 becomes an exclusive DG artist. Bernstein begins recording the Austro-German symphonic repertoire, largely from live concerts with the Wiener Philharmoniker, as well as many of his own and other American works (his 1985 recording of West Side Story becomes one of the bestselling releases in the company’s history).

The Georges Bizet / Carmen album was released in 1973 (as stated on my record although the outer cover says 1975).
I found it a highly enjoyable listen albeit with a little too much surface noise. It was given to me for free so can't complain! : )

If you like utterly charming female vocals with gorgeous harmonies, this is your album. A blend of 50's doo-wop, gospel, country & sexy contemporary pop.
Cheers
