Fascinating music used for a documentary film about Turkey called "Two Half Lives". Unfortunately, I am not able to locate the film around here. I would have loved to watch it.

Still don't understand why he never made superstar status. Every one of his albums is full of beautifully crafted meaningful songs.

It's A Breeze

Itzhak Perlman violin
Andre Previn piano
Jim Hall guitar
Shelly Manne drums
Red Mitchell bass

It's A Breeze 3:35
Rain In My Head 6:30
Catgut Your Tongue 6:08
It's About Time 3:13

Quiet Diddling 5:00
A Tune For Heather 7:30
Bowing And Scraping 5:00
The Red Bar 5:20

Original sound recording made by EMI Records Ltd. (p) 1981
Digital remastered LP @ 1992 i think(?)

Can't help think that Itzhak's violin play is slightly in the wrong key during track 1: 'It's A Breeze' Confused

But the rest of the album is very agreeable ...imho

This reprise of mostly Ellington-ish tunes gets a well deserved crown in the Penguin Jazz Guide.
