Another good one this... includes the old sea shanty South Australia.
"I wish I was on Australia's strand
Heave away! Haul away!
With a bottle of whiskey in my hand
And we're bound for South Australia
In South Australia my native land
Heave away! Haul away!
Full of rocks, and fleas, and thieves, and sand
And we're bound for South Australia"

This is an album made by Duran Duran (well 3 of them, Simon Nick and Roger) when they took a break.
It has fine music on it with a number of distinguished musicians (including Duran Duran) as guests.
This is a great album! I always thought that Duran Duran was better when they "separated". Both Arcadia and The Power Station were better than any Duran Duran album.

This album is an absolute thrilling experience. Highly recommended for the adventurous listeners out there.
What does this 3 CD edition have over the Original Soundtrack?
The "3 Disc Set" includes more music from the film, some of it is extended versions of the single disc, and some of it is the music without the dialog of the first disc.
That first disc is still my favorite, even though I wish some of the dialog wasn't there. Like most thing related to "Blade Runner", there are many versions and opinions.
Great stuff, one of the few scores that works without the film IMO. The US collector's edition dvd and (region-less) blu-ray contains five different versions of the film. Four of them were pulled from the work print, the final cut involved some re-shoots (with the same actors!) and new CGI. Wasn't aware that Vangelis composed new music, though?
EJ
I don't think the soundtrack has anything "new" by Vangelis. I think all the music is from his original 80s compositions, but the soundtrack wasn't released until 1994 as a single disc, then released again in 1997 as the "3 Disc Set".
From what I had read, Ridley Scott and Vangelis fought over the rights for the music and still have disagreements. I had a 80s release of the score, but it was an orchestra and the songs were rearranged. I'm so glad that they allowed this soundtrack to be released. It is truly a magical experience.
