You have plenty of other choices should you find him not for you.
Apparently there are SWMBOs out there that don't like their "bosses" music.

...and now on vinyl:-

I am going to give it the full treatment later with full concentration. I think it is is his voice that does not grab me...I'll report back.

Sway, the name's more hot than Ghana,
Got 'nuff chicks like I'm some farmer.
Last I heard, Liverpool's Ryan Babel was working on some tracks with him - probably better at mc-ing than he is at playing football.

What do you think of the Queyras recording?
EJ
Excellent. It is a pretty crowded field but these recordings are very natural, un-ostentatious and with a nice acoustic. I haven't heard the Isserlis set, just the hallmark Tortelier which is obviously of a different age.
Often the Cello Suites, like the Beethoven piano sonatas, are attempted later in a career but Queyras proves to be an exception to that rule.
Fully agree, these are very persuasive.
EJ
EJ & tpia,
Another very special recording (in terms of playing as well as sound) of Bach's cello suites is by the Swiss musician Martin Zeller. So far only volume one is out and the other three suites were planned to be recorded this year.

Sounds very pleasant Jeff. Is it a half decent recording?
George.

Hi George
I think the recording is fine, but be aware I have it as an mp3 download (albeit 256kbps or better) and am not very critical of "sound" any more.
I have a current infatuation with pop (often with electronic leanings) and this is a very nice example, as recommended at Pitchfork.

Thanks Jeff.
Amazon UK have the cd for £4.99 with free delivery, think I'll give it a punt. I wasn't aware of Pitchfork, it looks good.
