Absolutely. Glad you didn't mention Ian Anderson though, as I'm a bit of a Jethro Tull hater!

Now, this masterful percussion is more to my liking.

After the recording with Alagna and Gheorghiu, it's Vargas and Kassarova. Different, more refined in scope and execution - but both Vargas and Kassarova provide less accomplished performances and ultimately this strikes me as the less convincing of the two recordings.

"Prospekt's March" by Coldplay

This is a great collection of songs. I don't care much for the Jay-Z appearance. It's not because I don't like "rap", but I feel that the "rap" he delivers is out of context with the song "Lost". Anyway, this is one popular band that I think deserves the attention.

The Boxer Rebellion - Union

First play of today's £2 investment and the tunes are gradually showing promise. I can't really say who they sound like, so here's amazon...

Nathan Nicholson’s versatile vocals swoop through registers, in low murmurs, angst-ridden cries and graceful falsettos that scrape the sky. Shuffling rhythms borrowed from The National bubble beneath him, while ricocheting guitars slowly emerge from the darkness and take flight. It’s Mew-meets-Editors, but conveyed with delicate brushstrokes.

On Hot Flush Recordings, one of my favourite labels just now, and home also to the clubbier Joy Orbison and the slicker-sounding Mount Kimbie. Just released, Mount Kimbie's Crooks & Lovers is great, slowed-down narcotic house, with an obvious dubstep influence.

And, staying with recent releases, if you don't know them already, 2562's Unbalance, Martyn's Great Lengths, and F's Energy Distortion are all excellent updates on this kind of thing, with a mix of dubstep/tech house that I really like.

All highly recommended (late-night) listening.

Thanks for the recommendations Chief Chirpa will definitely look these up.

Cheers

OK....you've got my attention. First let me say that I know very little about this type of music, but I like it. I'll post some things I like, and please let me know what else there is. The more mellow, the better.

Thank YOU so much!

I like this album! I have some other stuff of their's, which is more "dance", but I prefer the mellow groove of this album. Since I'm very uneducated about this type of music, any help and suggestions will be very much appreciated.
