The new thick double vinyl classic aint half bad.
Jamie said recent not old
I am thinking the The ConstruKction of Light and Power To Believe - the two I do not own. After reading the comments on amazon I might add them to the collection.
Yes, both 'The ConstruKction of Light' and 'Power To Believe' I would recommend, especially the latter. Also the 'Eyes Wide Open' live DVD is very good.
Very, very different to where King Crimson started out fourty years ago.
Fripp's solo in 'Larks Tongues in Aspic, Part IV' ('The ConstruKction of Light', 'Eyes Wide Open') is incredible. When writing the track he described it as the hardest piece of guitar work he had attempted in many years, a two minute plus solo almost entirely of demi-semi quavers, set against a 15/16 backing (I think). Not only technically difficult, but played with great feeling and fluidity.
In the same territory I can't remember if you have Tool 'Lateralus', not the easiest album to get into, I know several forum members, me included, have taken around 18 months to get into it, but once you get it, it is an amazing album.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Jamie - I will get the two KC's. I do have Tool Lateralus but to date it has not done anything for me. I do a lot of my best listening in the car so I'll put it in the CD changer in the morning to really test it out for the week.

Skip the first two tracks on 'Lateralus' and start with 3, or 5, or even better 6&7 together. It is definitely an acquired taste.
I am listening to it now, it has the added bonus of being exactly the opposite of the 'X-factor', and loud enough to block it out:
Previously:
Orbital 'Sydney 2010' (6Music broadcast)

Adrian,
It took me ages to "get" this album but once I did I could not stop playing it (along with their others, which also took some time). It needs perseverance but is well worth it in the end.

I will stick with it Mark - thanks.
Now inspired by BigH, a little Jason Rebello to close the evening from 1991. I was so crazy on this album back then and saw him and his band many times live.

From the library and listened to in the car today:-
Fine all the time they used notes in the same key as the piece, squeakers (saxes) to blame.
Not it will get many plays.

Best listened to late at night with the lights low. Does take a bit of effort, but worth it.
