A major problem with reviews?

Just pick the ones that agree with yourself,?

Mixed reviews tend to lead to a mixed album.

Overall I find reviews very useful, especially when the consensus give a positive review, you are normally onto a winner. Without reviews of albums I had never heard of, there would be so many great records that I now own missing from my collection.

I never read reviews, or music magazines and websites. Maybe I'm missing out on something? I do sometimes listen to the "Sounds Opinions" and "All Songs Considered" podcasts, but usually disagree with them, so I guess I'm screwed.

I have discovered some good albums here, though. I would have not known about "Crooks and Lovers" by Mount Kimbie if it wasn't for another forum member. I also think that someone mentioned "Sensuous" by Cornelius here several years ago, and I love that album.

The mono box is absolutely worth getting. Have not yet made up my mind on this one.
