Walküre was brilliant. Stewart was no Hotter or Morris, but in his own way totally convincing. Vickers as Siegmund is every bit as impressive as you'd expect, butchering not only his enemies but the German language.

Onto Siegfried - we're at disc 7 of 14. Again with Stewart, and with Jess Thomas as a charismatic Siegfried. The opening scene with Mime sets the stage beautifully - two fully fleshed out tragic, flawed, characters competing for sympathy.

Halfway in, it beats me why this cycle never managed to become a gramophone classic. Karajan is magnificent, and he had a great group of singers. Recording is good for mid/late 60s, with voices forward of the orchestra.

The Cure - Mixed Up

Something of a Miles banquet tonight. First three tracks on this eclectic set of previously unissued material are just great.
