Beth Orton - Comfort Of Strangers

First listen. Not an easy experience ,but with a little perseverance this could become a grower.

Long out of print and never released on CD by ECM, I have managed to find a copy on vinyl of Five Years Later by John Abercrombie and Ralph Towner.

That is a great album, and was instrumental in getting me into ECM. It really is time Eicher got round to giving it a CD release. Thanks for the article btw - a very nice read - wonder who the vodka drinking jazz artist in NYC was?

Played CD-2 last night to make the M25 slow lanes bearable.

Adrian,
Well done.
Is it mint?

It's not bad - not too much S/C/P for an old record. Picked it up from Reckless Records in Soho for £7, so a relative bargain. It was one of the main albums missing from my ECM collection. Hopefully it will get a CD release one day - it has been on the release radar for quite a while.

Gosh when did they add all those instruments that weren't there in the 60s? Roll Eyes

It must have been 40 or so years since I last listened to this album.
