SDMPWC. March 1961. Coltrane only plays on the title track and second horn on Teo, (his last track with Miles) otherwise this is the quintet in full flight with Mobley taking on sax and Bill Evans making way for Wynton Kelly.

Much going on in April 1961; Gargarin had become the first human in space on April 12th, Castro defeats the Bay of Pigs invasion by April 20th, and on April 21st & 22nd Miles plays the Blackhawk in San Francisco, his first club recording and an important mid-career historical document.

Hi Ballan,I've listened to it 4 times now and think it is a better album than "Only by the Night." I don't know what it is but there is just something that keeps drawing me back to it.

Yo La Tengo "Summer Sun"

Taking a short break from Wagner. First another attempt at Schoenberg's concerto, then lighter fare with the best recording by both Garanca and Netrebko to date.

Rumour has it, on twitter and in the Omaha World Herald that David Gilmour and Roger Waters had dinner together last night and that tonight David will be fulfilling his promise to Roger to play "Comfortably Numb" for one night on The Wall tour in St Paul,MN. Damm it, I was hoping it would be the night I was going in London.

Well luckily for some, he was spotted earlier today with his kids on the London Eye. Rumours, rumours....
