What do you think? Is there anything on there that is not covered on the Bitches Brew Box Set? Or at least anything essential.

Reminds me of the filming of Genesis Invisible Touch tour from Wembley. They were not able to release In The Cage on the DVD, as they were changing film in the cameras at that point of the show. Primitive really.

They'll be releasing the 4 CD, 2 DVD, 3 slabs of vinyl version next Christmas. Sony, the ultimate Miles Davis milkers.

Not sure if the third CD was already available:
"...a third CD of a previously unissued performance at Tanglewood, August 1970, with Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette, Airto Moreira and Gary Bartz."

I know a lot of people on the forum are fans of Robert Plant's recent work with various country artists, but this does nothing for me. Sarah and me both gave up and watched a TV programme we had recorded.
I am so glad I saw Plant with The Strange Sensation who for me were easily his best post Led Zeppelin band.
I'll flip in another disc and get the patch from the Sky+ (or maybe 'Dime'), but frankly I'll put on his Storytellers (VH1) 2001 or maybe the Scala 2005 shows if I want something live.

I am still listening but it is not doing much for me. Still waiting for it to get exciting.

I was surprised that I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would when playing it in the car this week.

All the Columbia 'Bitches Brew' box was studio recordings, including material from 'Big Fun', so I don't think that show was available on that. I don't think I have seen the Tanglewood show elsewhere, but with so many live recordings official, bootlegged and quite a few between (obscure, probably bootleg labels), it is hard to judge.

Really enjoying my 18-year old Denon with this new DAC

Tool 'Lateralus'. Needed some music with some energy. I will be happy for Maynard James Keenan to grow old gracefully with his vineyard, maybe even watch a live webcast of him picking grapes in a couple of decades. I think you know what I am getting at.

So that's the 40th re-issue box set ?
Or is it now 40 discs in this issue?
Should have stuck to the first issue IMO.
Sony the ultimate Miles "Milkers" like that comment, I'm sure there are plenty that will go along with it.
Just how much value add can there be each time?

Just watched & listened to the Stunning Black Sabbath - Paranoid Classic Albums show on BBC4. The programme showed a band who developed (live) a unique sound and gelled so well together. I was knocked out by the fantastic riffs of Tony Iommi, amazing rhythm section of Geezer Butler & Bill Ward, plus the brilliant singing of Ozzy. I saw the band on May 18 1970 at The Kings Head pub in Romford after the first album and never really followed them afterwards. Something connected tonight and I'm really glad I saw the show. Tony is some guitarist and I will start collecting soon.

Thought I better buy these two albums as I've seen them posted so many times. Should have done it earlier. What a wonderful voice.
Cheers

Excellent record and good programme - the classic album series had some good programmes. I have the first four Sabbath elpees, but stopped following them after Volume IV - not sure why, it is not I don't rate the late records, more I just don't know them.quote:Originally posted by DenisA:![]()

If DP are Heavy Metal as suggested on the BBC then Ritchie is my favourite HM guitar man - this is another splendid album from Blackmore's Night and the long awaited DVD is on its way too.
