Vinyl from 2006 - Time Flies...

Still, Blackfield III in 2011 if there are no diversions.

Paul McCartney & Wings: Band On The Run (24-Bit/96kHz)

High resolution through nDAC. This is the best sounding version of the album. It is better than the 2010 remaster on CD and it also improves on the Steve Hoffman DCC version.

Worth hearing!

I managed to find a copy on 'black triangle' which is rather good, and worth tracking down, IMO.

The HiRes download is better by miles than the cds that suffer from the loudness wars.
Borrow Adrians cds before you buy.
Stu

You are absolutely right Stu. The CD version is mastered far too hot. It is rather like the mastering on the Japan SHM-CD releases, most of which sound very poor.

I still have my original CD of 'Band On The Run'. It must be one of the first silver discs that I bought when I got my first CD player. I believe it was a Philips CD104 ... Sounded dreadful through my 42/110, Kans! I only bought a CD player as there was no vinyl release of Frank Zappa's 'Does Humor Belong In Music'

What would you play the hires download on? Winker

Ps I think the new CD version is sh**e. The old is better but overall it is not a great recording to start with.
