Continuing with the recent box sets ... Coltrane had already garnered super-star status when many of these performances occurred, hence the high number of repeated tunes. But still there are enough nuanced variations to keep one hooked through this 7 disk set. Over half the music was released for the first time here.

Indeed. Good finger-food actually - great to dip into when one needs to cleanse the palate from the more cacophonous jazz sets played in this house recently.
