Nigel,

Fifteen years ago hardly anyone was bothering with Haydn's piano sonatas and now I have three excellent recordings of these works with Marc-Andre Hamelin, Yevgeny Sudbin, and the latest with Ragna Schrimer. She was recommended to me by Stefan and I put her right at the top, highly recommending her. She also has a three discs recording of the complete suites by Handel which I will probably get in the near future.

If you prefer to try Haydn with a single disc then go ahead and get Sudbin who is very good. The other two are double discs.
