Enjoying these album previews...

Jen Olive - Warm Robot (listen here) and buy here.

New Mexico's strange and sultry songstress Jen Olive released her debut album for Ape on 29th March 2010.

Produced by Andy Partridge, Warm Robot should delight and beautifully befuddle your shell likes with tumbling songs of mathematical and soulful sonic architechture. A truly beautiful thing that will unfold its layers over countless listens.

Andy Partridge has assembled some really interesting artists on his APE label. As befits a man with a brain the size of planet, he has sought musicians who enjoy experimentation and like Swindon Razz

I don't know how he did it, but today in the mail arrived a surprise package from my brother with this CD of a Joe Jackson concert that only took place 3 weeks ago!

Another Steven Wilson SC release...

Disappear (April 97 demo)

This song was written in 1997 and demoed several times, before finally being recorded by Porcupine Tree in 2000 (that version is currently available on the Recordings album). This much earlier version from April 1997 is the second time I had demoed it - it sounds good to me now, but at the time I felt these early attempts were needlessly complicating what was at heart quite a simple song, so they never made it past the demo stage. This was one of 2 versions previously issued on a 7 inch single that came as bonus with the 3LP vinyl edition of Coma Divine.
