iPhone 4 and n-serve

Posted by: Bill_nyc on 18 December 2010

My installation of n-serve on my iPhone 4 works only intermittently -- sometimes connects, sometimes not. This appears to be similar to another post by srjudd re. n-stream. Killing the app via the multi-task menu seems to get the connection going again. I'm wondering if NAIM has a fix for this planneed(?).

BTW, while you're at it -- fix the sorting so that it disregards a leading "the" or "a" -- like the ipod has been doing for years.

Hi Bill,

I have same set up, n-Serve on iphone 4, and most of the time it works fine. Occasionally it loses the connection, but its only once every few days. Restart does the trick.

Fully agree your comments about the leading "the". I ended up manually renaming many artists using the web interface. Even that was a pain because you can only seem to change one at a time - so had to do each of my 25 'Stones albums one by one.

No, not the end of the World. But not world class either.

I'll post separately about some issues and general remarks about Unitiserve interface separately.

Cheers, Paul

Hi,
I'm just reviewing old app related forum posts. I can confirm that the n-Stream discovery and connection issues were fixed in version 1.3 that was released on the App Store at the end of December 2010.

If you still have n-Serve issues please contact our technical support.

Cheers
Tom

Second here, I refuse to rename however ...

That would drive me away as a potential customer.  Like any reasonably complex media player, you should be able to set this as an option.
