Forum Rugby Club - 2010-11 Season

Kicking off the new season's thread with some sad news.

Leicester Tigers' Harry Ellis is to retire at 28 because of persistent left knee problems.

On the bright side, Leicester does of course have Ben Youngs (and perhaps Harry could remain involved in a mentoring role).

But it's always unfortunate when a player (wherever) has to retire (early) because of unresolvable injury problems.

I have no problem losing against a better team on the day. even in the finals but when the ref gives the game on a plate in the dying moments to a team guilty of the infringement that we were pinged for then there is a problem and it will cause me to get my arse in my hands and jump up and down

Oh yes yes "Jingle Bells Jingle Bells" oh what fun it to do the double over Barf and beat Saints away all in 8 days.

I hope Tigers stuff the Saffers and we will climb up to 2nd soon.

Great to hear from you FF!   And congrats on a good win and a great game (watched it on ESPN).  Sorry that Tigers were unable to fulfil your wishes

Are you coming up to Welford Rd for Tigers vs Glaws on 16 April?  I was thinking of taking myself over.

James have you got your ticket for the Glaws game yet ?????
Posted on: 06 March 2011 by JWM
Not yet.  Have they sold out?!
Posted on: 06 March 2011 by deadlifter
Not as i know to, just to enquire as me and the mrs are going to go and have not bought tickets yet.

I think Espn chose the best games to show on a free weekend as the Chiefs Vs Saints game was a good one to boot, and i`m so chuffed for the Chiefs to come into the premiership and at this stage be nearly half way up the table

Yes, let's hear it for the Chiefs!  Well done them.

I just need to check out my dates for Glaws.

Ok, let me know what's occurring and maybe we can sort something out and also get flyfisher across for the game and a beer of course

It has been a very long slide for Saints. I didn't realise quite how far they had fallen.

Stunning performance by Glaws in the Luncheon Voucher Challenge against Dragons today.

I think England are guilty of believing this game was over before it even began. This is another poor first half performance from England and Scotland deserve to at least be level.

England have been poor at the breakdown and Scotland have fought hard there to win the ball. As the commentators have pointed out, England need to commit more there. Scotland have also defended well and England have found it hard to break through resorting to aimless kicking all too often.

Let's hope Johnno lays into them and they come out far more dynamic in the second half.
