Leicester Tigers' Harry Ellis is to retire at 28 because of persistent left knee problems.
On the bright side, Leicester does of course have Ben Youngs (and perhaps Harry could remain involved in a mentoring role).
But it's always unfortunate when a player (wherever) has to retire (early) because of unresolvable injury problems.
You better check that again
B****r!
32-23 to Tigers. Now in the last ten minutes THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL CLASS from the Tigers and that is why we are the most successfull team in the premiership and in English rugby we never lie down and give up, BUT i will say we did not deserve that win really we did not play well at all and things need to change PDQ if we are to retain the title. The likes of Glaws,Saffies,Bath and the Saints would absolutely destroy us with that performance
Just seen that Exeter walloped Wasps, oop`s they really need someone that can be a talisman and lead them back on the straight and narrow.
So Saints deny Bath a place in the playoffs and will meet us at Welford rd next week, bit of a shame really as i hoped they would play the Saffies rather than both Midlanders play to knock each other out.
I have to confess that i`m not confident that we can retain the the title with the performances that we have turned out in the last couple of months, BUT we also don`t give up till the whistle blows
By the way just want to add we are the moral CHAMPIONS of the the premiership 2010-2011

I've long since given up on any Wasps inspired pleasure during this rugby union season. My only joy now is derived from seeing Tigers not win games or titles. Sadly, that is a rare treat indeed but all the sweeter when tasted. There was a moment this afternoon, alas but a fleeting moment.......and then it passed!
Still, there is Twickenham to look forward to and for completely perverse reasons I hope Tigers progress there! All the more to enjoy their downfall!
So if we win again for the third year running shall we get you fitted for a Tigers jersey it would make a fantastic photo and you could at last have some pride again
A far from perfect season from Tigers, but still they must be doing something right to finish top. There are some vulnerabilities and it's far from a done deal on Saturday vs Stains.
Ex-Tiger Neil Back at Leeds has done the decent thing and jumped before being pushed. A bit like Ipswich Town when they got promoted, it was the second season up that was their real test and proved their undoing. Watching Leeds, there were many games when they played hard and lost by only a few points, and their attacking against Stains last Saturday was excellent, with some well-made tries. It seems to me it is generally (a) their poor defence, and (b) their inability to go the whole 80 mins that let them down.
I said that Tigers had had a far from perfect season, but they must be doing something right. In the final analysis, even when things have been going wrong through the game, it is their ability to go the whole 80 mins that has been such a strong point for them, and the ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Looks like we will all be seeing Tigers at Twickenham again in 2 weeks!
Tuilagi should not have been on the field. He should, however, be in the ring!
Can't comment, wasn't able to watch. Though I understand it was a pretty passionate game all round. Caught a bit of the post match interview with Jim Mallinder, who said that on balance Tigers deserved the win.
I can lend you a shirt for the final Mark, though it may be just a little large, adding to the comic effect.
What a stonking game, and to set the record straight Northampton were addicted to high tackles and late tackles during the first half without getting pinged by the ref so when Ashton received a visit from Manu he should have wound his neck in instead of retaliation and got on with the game,[ Ashton that is ] the yellow card for both players was a good decision and despite Barnes not pinging saints for said first half offences i thought he had a half decent game. The outcome of the game was the correct one and i think that the Saints will get absolutely hammered next week against Leinster

Ashton should have got nothing or the other Tuilagi should have got a yellow for his retaliation push on Downey later in the game. Tuilagi junior should have been red. 14 v 15, different story.
I do not agree in the slightest, it was a tight game and the Tigers kept their penalty count to a minimum the Saints were high and late in their tackles throughout the first half and getting away with it
I do not agree in the slightest,
Quel supris!
However, all of the independent pundits on Sky do!
So Mark, are we Standing up for Wasps again Saturday week or going incognito...Still, will be nice to see Tigers get beat in the final
Not sure that they could really be independant, but as usual there is a lot of Tiger bashing going on.
Only time will tell if we lose, but i would not count on it.
Anyway i really hope that the Saffies get stuffed by Glaws today and then there will be a fantastic game of rugger on the 28th
Aw Glaws JUST lose out, so it seems that the 28th will be a replay
Might get a fez for Twickers!!
Are big curved swords allowed?
To fall upon?
Et to Brute?
Brute yourself
Well, Manu will be watching... 5 weeks off - 10 weeks, halved because of Ashton's provocation.
But at least Tigers have been saving Hipkiss to come in on the last game of the season, and do the business like he did last year

Told you it wasn't just me!
