Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

A small temple 5 minutes walk from my place. Taken with an infrared filter in front of the Ricoh GR-Digital's lens, then framed.

Is that you sat in seat P15?

Actually I'm going to go for front row, two from the right.

I think that all the heads have been added to the picture - perhaps from a local to CD's home team or group of friends (local dart team or diving club etc etc ).

And while you were PSing the pic why did you not clone out the loose ball to the right of the people?

Strange that I'm thought of as bald!

No Photoshopping Derek. Us old gits hired the Notts County pitch for a match. The previous year we hired the Burnley ground. Fantastic fun. Use the players' dressing room, lounge, play in (and keep) the club's shirt with your name on it and the whole match is filmed. Seeing myself playing football on the tv was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I had visions of running like Shearer, but I looked like Tuco in the Ecstacy of Gold scene from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.

Nodrog, this pic makes it look to me as if you've just photographed up close a section of scenery on a model railway layout! I rather like it.

Also like the way Japanese post boxes helpfully have the word "POST" in English emblazoned on the front!

Those pictures of Japan taken by jonr and nodrog are exquisite. And I really love your flowers hammerhead.

I posted these more for the content than the execution. Snapped from a plane window with a phone cam. The first is Mt. Shasta in northern california, obscured by the smoky haze of more than 300 wildfires burning in our neck of the woods. The second is about 10 minutes later, a river of fog flowing in through the Golden Gate, with SF and Treasure Island/Bay Bridge on the left and Marin/Angel Island on the left. I just thought it was cool looking.

John M,

Sorry - just for accuracy, I should point out the picture in my post is nodrog's, not mine. I have never been to Japan though I hope to visit one day.

Derek, that's what black and white was invented for.

Here's something to soothe that memory away...

I think it's even more disturbing in monochrome!
