Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Nice Shot Julian. The sea has this magical ability of making one's soul clean and calm Smile

Flame,

Very nice pictures. On your next trip to Sharem you can try Dahab in the Sinai which is a bit more secluded and has great diving sites as well.

I'd better have a word with Roger Poll then! Big Grin Frank F used to be big in diving too in years gone by.......

Maybe we could persuade the Polarbear into the water too, so long as there are plenty of fish! Winker

Kind regards,

Haim;
Thanks for the compliment. Every time I go to Sharm I plan to visit Dahab and then cancel out for some reason. Maybe next time. Are you on Flickr, by the way?

Peter;
I would be too dangeous to take PB diving with us as they'd be no more fish left for the divers to see Big Grin

I was visiting Syria last month, particularly the city of Aleppo. Here are a few shots that I captured.

This is Aleppo's Citadel. The previous picture is from within one of the chambers.

Maybe this has a touch of photojournalism to it. The taxi I hired wandered off into an old underprivileged neighborhood and we came infront of this house. The children, despite the poor socioeconomic situation were pulsing with life and joy. I had to take a shot that showed the contrast of the spirit to the environment.

In the old days, before the Sinai peninsula was returned to Egypt, we used to take diving trips all along its eastern coast from Eilat in the north to Sharem in the south. In those days they had no hotels and we would camp on the beaches and do two to three dives a day. Some sites did not have access roads and we had to carry our tanks and weights a couple of KMs in the sands. When we were lucky we would encounter a Bedouain and load all the stuff on his camel...

Your pictures from Syria have a great sense of time and place and the light is just beautiful.
I have a flickr but I hardly travel these days and most of my photography is from around here. Let me know if you are interested (hronen@comcast.net).

Haim

All cool Haim. I added you on flickr. What you describe regarding Sharm is similar to what is currently taking place on the Saudi side of the straits of Aqaba. Not sure if it is for me though Smile

Some pictures from the weekend (amongst others).

Help. How do I obtain permission to add photos to this thread? I do not have an 'attach image' option, just text. Thanks
