Quality Street.

Quality Street.
This year, and seeing as nobody would think to buy me my favourite sweets, I bought large 997 gram tin of Quality Street for myself, and now have two neatly arranged piles of blue and purple uneaten sweets!
Who else is [and or was] so picky as to avoid the unknown [blue] or disliked [purple, and with large nuts under the chocolate] till the end?
Mind you they have filleted the selection since the old days!
ATB from George
PS: The blue are coconut. Can't stand coconut!

Dear Julian
Ten out of ten! Laugh-out-loud-issimo! Could never stand dates either, and they seem to have disappeared!
Happy New Year! G

Here you go George. A little bit of consumer research. I just happened to have an unopened box of Heroes in the house.
Great if you like plain milk chocolate, not so good if you want the twisted mini creme eggs [unfortunately there are even less than that now! ].

I shall take whether or not i like Roses or Quality street better to the grave! This has been going on for years!
I'll always take both just to be on the safe side though.
It's not so easy to say the same about the two ABBA girls during my youth though, it ended (stale mate)
Happy year,
Steve

My favourite was the coffee cream from the Roses selection...
However, they stopped including the coffee creams years ago, so i've stopped buying Roses, and i don't buy Quality Shite all sugar and fat, or Heroes diabetes in a box either.
The coffee cream was the best of all, and now it's gone!
Humbug!
Debs
p.s. (not that i feel bitter and twisted or anything)

George,
I bought a tin of Quality Street from the British Shop in Perth - if you've been eating Australian chocolate for a while the British ones taste amazing. I've enjoyed them all. (Australian chocolate is made to a different recipe, I think with extra sugar to raise the melting point - otherwise every chocolate boufght would be a squidgy mess)
A belated merry Christmas to you, and a more timely happy new year.
All the best
Kevin

Like them all; choosing those others enjoy, then bagging the leftovers.

Dear George,
if it's Quality you're after, i would have thought these would be up your Street...
(a belated crimbo prezzy from a colleague friend)
So far i've enjoyed a Bach - Toccata und Fudge (Gianduja),
and a Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (yummi cappuccino & roasted hazelnut).
I see that Mozart's in the Coffee House too!

Re: Quality Street etc
The solution is to do what I organised in the office last year....a chocolate amnesty where everybody brings in the colours they don't like and swaps them with somebody else who invariably likes the opposite (I've considered running this as the ultimate compatibility test for an on-line dating service - I may yet make my fortune!)

Chaps
Forget Quality Street and similar. Get yourself down to the elcheapo Lidl and buy some 80% cocoa dark chocolate. It is absolutely brilliant.
All the old geezers are nibbling the stuff now a days.
Regards

George - please pass your purple ones to me.
I'd recommend Booja-booja choc truffles, described as 'cholesterol-free' and incredibly tasty! http://www.boojabooja.com/chocolate_truffles.asp
On the subject of Lidl, their ground coffee is about half the price of UK supermarket stuff and twice as good.

I always left the yellow circular caramels for last. They were dreadfully plain, gooey, and not fun to eat unless they were the only candy in the house.
