Also on the Beatles web site,the Deluxe Anniversary Edition of The Beatles’ 1967 masterwork, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, will debut worldwide in high definition digital audio (96kHz/24bit). The Deluxe Anniversary Edition features the album’s acclaimed 2017 stereo mix, plus 18 additional tracks, including complete alternate takes for the groundbreaking album’s 13 songs, newly mixed in stereo. The expanded edition also features the 2017 stereo mix and an instrumental take of “Penny Lane” and the 2015 stereo mix and two complete alternate takes for “Strawberry Fields Forever”

Release on December 15.

Thanks for the tip off.    TBH I'm disappointed with the bold text items above.    Why oh why can't we have a straightforward Sgt Pepper as per the original record ????    If they don't release a 24/96 version of the original record,  I expect I will still buy this bastardised version, irrespective of (cough) price,  but I know already that I will strip out the original release tracks & make my own.   

Hi Mike-B sorry for the bold text above, I did not pay atention when copying from the Beatles web sit. I will pay more attention in the future.

I also am worried about the remastering , hope they do not go overboard.

Hey Edward,  I not having a go at you about the bold text, it's my own en-bolding to highlight the 'extra' tracks that I personally don't want.     But I just looked at the CD release of the same it looks like the original tracks are loaded on 'CD-1'   so if they are formatted as such on the 24/96 download,  no problems, I will just play tracks 1 to 13.    

I've heard the vinyl version of this remix & fear not,  its not gone overboard at all,  it sounded very good & if the 24/96 carries the same,  I'll be happy

Thats good to hear, I will defiantly be buying the 24bit version of the album. I was going to buy the USB with the 24bit version of the albums from the river but the price they are asking is to high.
