I'll start the ball rolling...
Looking forward to the new Opeth Album It seems that they have dropped the growls for this one and are singing for a change. Due in September
floid,
Thanks for the heads up on that,
If you have not got all ready got a copy?
This is a must have on cd or vinyl.
They droped the growls big time on this Steven Wilson of (Porcupine Tree/no-man/Blackfield fame)produced album.
I think it paid off dropping the growls as its sold a few over the last few years.
Its a wonderful flowing musical Progy album.

Brett Anderson "Black Rainbows"
US release October 4, 2011
from the delmark website: This new digipak re-issue contains 19 performances: the 12 songs from the original LP, 3 alternates that have been available on CD plus 4 never-before-released performances. There's one completely unissued song, "I Ain't Stranded", and an alternate take to "Yonder Wall" in which Buddy Guy is playing through the Leslie speaker as he did on the title track, something guitar players are still copying to this day. The new four-panel digipak and 16 page booklet package contains nine never before seen photos from the recording session.
i wonder how this will stand up against the original release and the SACD hybrid. Perhaps Miles or Ewemon will let us know....

Keano, I wondered about this as well. Certainly, it's hasn't been remastered. The only motivation for me, buying another copy of this classic album would be the booklet with new photos. If you Don't have this in your collection it's a no-brainer. Otherwise the vinyl (3 year old) does sound better than the CD . . . . would love to hear a first gen vinyl pressing!

Ps. Looking at the album cover, if the new photos are like it . . . pass!
Out on the 19th Sept.
Double vinyl/CD/DVD/and 7"single.
An interesting combination
An interesting combination
I have been a bit Claptoned out over the last 10 years or so.
I have loads but dont play him that much anymore.
That does look very interesting though.

The brief listen I had on jpc.de helped me decide not to buy it. Not for me.
Out on Monday.
Cheers

US release is Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Not new but the Brian Eno 24 bit material I saw on the Warp/Bleep site while looking through the sale stuff. And anything forthcoming.
I think this may well be worth a listen.
Apparently, up to 20 new Sandy Denny songs have been discovered amongst her papers and Thea Gilmore will perform 10 of them on this new disc. It’s a long time since we have heard anything new, so here's hoping Ms Gilmore does a good job.
