What new releases are you looking forward to?

I'll start the ball rolling...
August 27 (US)
New eponymous album from The Civil Wars, streaming on the Guardian webiste at the moment
I quite liked the first (Barton Hollow) but this feels a bit over-produced to me. Lost some of the natural edge.

Coming soon the new Volcano Choir album 'Repave'. First released track (on their website) sounds like it would have fitted on 'Bon Iver' very well-so this may be good news as not all his collaborations since then have floated my boat (including the first Volcano Choir album).
More excited by new Midlake 'Antiphon'. Details and title track on the Bella Union records site. Not quite blown me away but 'Courage of Others' remains a .favourite at home so here is hoping.
Similarly enthusiastic about new Bill Callahan 'Dream River' but not heard any yet. Seems to be a very odd dub version of one track doing the rounds(?) but not entirelt clear if this is representative or a teaser.
Thought the last two albums were brilliant, as did a few on here.
New Lanterns On The Lake 'Until The Colours Run' out early Sept. First single preview on iTunes now. Shoe-gazy pop not usually my thing but liked the first album.
I like the flurry of new stuff as summer comes to an end

Laura Veirs "Warp & Weft" (US August 20)

You will like it Jeff as it is another good album though it has taken me sometime to get into her music.

Hi Ewen
I am sure I will like it, as I was reading some local PR about it and about Laura and Tucker yesterday. Portland is lucky to have them and the music business they bring into the area.
Hope you are well,

Laura Veirs "Warp & Weft" (US August 20)
For anyone interested, now available on Spotify Premium (US) and I believe this stream is worldwide: http://thelineofbestfit.com/ne...irs-warp-weft-134938
Arcade Fire "New Album October 29" (shrouded in mystery)
Here http://www.arcadefire.com/vinyl/ they write:
"So for the new album, we had each of the 16 tracks mastered to a 12 inch lacquer and then transferred back to digital format so that the CD and digital version of the record sound just like the vinyl."
So, is this going to be a real analogue recording? Vinyl version took 1st priority? Can't wait!

Now on general release, and perfectly good. Bit more guitar based, no bad thing. I still like the gentle iciness of Carbon Glacier though.
The remaster of Lucinda Williams S/T for Rough Trade. Expected early November.

That maybe dependant on whether or not she gets a new record deal as apparently she hasn't had one for about a a year. Though they are still looking to make it happen.
Yup - they sounded very positive about it on the Lucinda Williams website/blog though. I will still be looking forward to it even if it is delayed!
Another big shout for 'Southeastern'. Isbell has really flourished since leaving DBT.
I think it was a big loss for the band as, in Hood, Cooley and Isbell they had an awesome and complementary songwriting team, with heach member bringing something unique to the table. Although Hood's recent songs have been very strong too.

I think 'Ghost on Ghost' feels a bit inconsistent, and some tracks do not really work for me. Just makes the ones I really do like stand out more. A worthwhile purchase, and his work keeps evolving so i'm sure I'll keep listening to him in future.
Thinking about similar fare I've been catching up on some old Bonnie Prince Billy. 'Ease Down The Road' is a cracker if he is your thing. As such a prolific chap it can be hard to get into his back catalogue but this would be in my top 3-4 of his albums.
The new Bon Iver album with Volcano Choir 'Repave' is streaming in full this week at NPR First Listen . Sounds very interesting and far more like the last Bon Iver album than the last Volcano Choir
